SOME THINGS SHOULD EXIST. Sometimes, the husband and I start talking about things that should exist and the idea just won't go away until it's put down on paper. So today's Company that Should Exist is... (drum roll, please)...

I.F.F. Only

An independent "Environment Footprint" company. Someone to go around and measure the amount of harm you do to the environment by the choices you make. Maybe a simple scale: -3 to +3. hat way, people could count up their footprint every day or week, or just be aware.

I look at products and think, "People are buying that because it's prettier. But I wonder if they would if it was obvious that it hurt the environment twice as much as the other brand there." Or even choices were people are misinformed-- like paper or plastic. Choosing paper doesn't make you a superstar unless you recycle, and if the company who cut down that part of the tree for you replanted in kind. And plastic CAN be recycled if you're careful-- or you can even give it back to your grocery store.

Plus, shopping at stores that don't give as much as they take from the environment could be noted on the I.E.F.C (Independent Economic Footprint Counsel) as well.
