"If there's one thing I learned it's that being somewhere means you're not going anywhere."

If Kisses Were Bullets...

A Sick Romance Novel

"Do you like when I'm unhappy?" I ask. "You know I don't support charity organizations."

"I've been sending them a check and you get a tax deduction," Alisa says.

"Well, why don't we donate to the local police department that way I get better protection and a tax deduction?"

"Satan has a special place in his heart for you," Alisa says.

Zack and the gang have just saved The Max from being closed when Alisa comes in. My life is much more adequate since I've given her the key to this joint.

"I've been waiting for you," I say. I don't move from my position on the couch. It took me long enough to get the blanket perfectly wrapped around me, I'm not going to ruin it now. "I have this craving for a bagel with cream cheese."

"Well, I got you cinnamon rolls and a coffee." Alisa's voice echoes off the kitchen walls.

"Ali, please?"

"You're imaginative," she hands me the coffee and a cinnamon roll. "Pretend it's a bagel."

H.X. Sin has twisted words making the main characters life story as confusing to the reader as it is to himself. This is not a book most will understand and never claims to be. Layered with social satire the We watch from the antagonist's perspective as he gives us an interesting insight into why ignorance begets ignorance he is torn between his loathing of human nature and his desire to lead mankind away from its own destruction. Yet above all else he must never give up to the pressure of other peoples beliefs and always following his own personal moral code. He is generation Y. In direct opposition to their parents, the baby boomers.
Most of generation Y has would rather do things for others instead of just for themselves.  Given the opportunity we would choose to throw out everything the baby boomers have built up around us.  So it seems that the legacy the baby boomer hope to build will not go on forever and will actually begin to crumble in the next twenty years. Which doesn't matter now but eventually will when the baby boomers realize that we will not be building memorials in their honor or voting to front their Medicare bills. It's time for generation Y to act before our future is taken away.

This is what the main character has been struggling against with his entire life... that and murder. If analyzing the philosophical and social depths of the novel doesn't keep you busy than solving the murder will. If Kisses Were Bullets... weaves through the history of the main character. We watch from his perspective as love and life cut him short. Is there something in his past that could have created a brutal serial killer? Was he in the wrong place in the wrong time? Or are his paranoid delusions real? Is he being set up?

Come watch the dance of love lost and love gained.

Another Excerpt

Everyone has a dream of fame and fortune or love and life. They have simplistic versions of perfection in mind. Mounds of green cash that come from nowhere for no reason. The cash is always greener and on the other side is their reality.
Dreams of besting the world form-success in life that translates as success in status. Cities are built on dreams and schools teach these dreams. Everyday adulthood says that we can be whatever we want to be-astronaut or president it's all within reach. It's all there in our dreams as fears conquered.
I am the alpha dog of humanity and when I write the great American novel or win my academy award I'll scoff. I'll say my winning speech at the podium. I'll talk about how no one thought I could do it but strived and achieved.
Or will someone else say those words?
There are a million dreams in the naked society.
How many are the same as your own?
One?
Two billion?
That's an awful lot of inflation to go around.
