Running Doesn't (have to) Suck. By Christina Holmes
There are a few things you can do when you start running for exercise that make your experience more enjoyable.
First, Decide why you want to run:
* To be a runner (prestige, peer pressure, curiosity)
* To improve your level of fitness (be able to walk up a flight of stairs without getting winded)
* To lose fat, become tone, increase bone density
* To reach a goal (run a mile in 8 minutes, finish a marathon, or run a charity race)
How to Get Fit. By David Martinez
Eat right and exercise.
The end.
EVERY TIME I WALK PAST A MAGAZINE RACK or listen to people talk, I hear questions like, "How do I get this fat off?" or "How can I lose ten pounds by...?" and the only answer is eat right and exercise. Sure there are pills and surgeries but how much are you willing to pay for what is (in)effectively a temporary solution. Forever, or at least until we become cyborgs, eating right and exercising will be the solution. There isn't some special weight or outfit that will loose the weight for you.
You Can't Count on Superman By Radha Martinez
Imagine this. You're sifting through Grandma's basement and you notice a newspaper, circa 1917. "Neat!" you think, and you sit down to give it a read. It opens to the classifieds and the ad before you reads:
